Doula Certification and Reimbursement Eligibility

Want to Accept Employer- Based Benefits as a Doula? Start Here.

At Postpartum Pathways, we train and certify postpartum doulas in alignment with the standards required by Carrot Fertility and other employer-based benefit programs such as Health Insurance. If you want to become a doula who is eligible to receive benefit payments for client services, you’re in the right place.

Our Training Program Meets the Following Requirements:

Evidence-Based Curriculum

Our program includes over 24 hours of professional, evidence-based instruction, covering postpartum care, emotional and physical recovery, lactation support, sleep and feeding, and more.

Hands-On Support Experience

Our certification Requires 24 hours of hands on experience. Client feedback will be required and reviewed to ensure Doulas are compliant with our standards. All trainees are required to complete practical support hours with clients and submit reflective documentation for certification.

Recognized Certification

Graduates receive a Postpartum Pathways Certificate, which aligns with the requirements Carrot recognizes for doula reimbursement.

Guidance for Insurance and CPR

We educate / support our doulas in obtaining:

• Professional liability insurance (minimum $1M coverage - https://www.cmfgroup.com etc)

• Current CPR certification (adult/child/infant, from Red Cross)

Support with Carrot Provider Enrollment

While doulas must apply individually to Carrot’s provider network, we guide our certified doulas through this process and help ensure all eligibility documents are in place.

After completing our certification program and securing your CPR and liability coverage, you’ll be able to:

• Apply to become a Carrot-approved postpartum doula provider

• Accept clients using Carrot benefits through their employer plans
